At SEPTA, safety is at the core of everything we do. The System Safety Division is dedicated to providing a safe, reliable and positive travel experience for both customers and employees. SEPTA’s System Safety Division includes safety officers and professionals in various teams such as Operational Safety, Accident Prevention & Investigation (API), Occupational Safety & Environmental Management (OSEM), Construction Safety, Safety Risk Management, Safety Assurance, Safety Promotion and Quality.
Through inspections, audits, incident reporting and ongoing safety initiatives and training, System Safety works around the clock to help keep our transit system safe. The Safety Promotion team promotes safety beyond our system by partnering with schools, Operation Lifesaver and community organizations to provide education and outreach programs. Be on the lookout for our safety mascot, Paws, when he takes a ride on our Safety Education Bus.
A strong safety culture depends on all of us. Remember, you are never too busy for safety.
