Ridership: March 2025

Average daily ridership in March 2025 was 746,506 unlinked passenger trips across all modes.

System-wide ridership in March 2025 increased 14% from March 2024. On average there were 88,916 more trips per day in March 2025 compared to March 2024. Ridership in March 2024 was down slightly due to spring break falling during the last week of the month. This year spring break occurs during the month of April.

All modes experienced robust growth relative to this time last year.

Bus/trackless trolley ridership experienced the strongest year over year growth since 2023 with an increase of 12% relative to March 2024 or approximately 41,530 trips per weekday. Ridership has increased 12% on weekdays, 30% on Saturdays, and 9% on Sundays. The five routes with the strongest year over year growth by total number of trips are Route 66 (2,488), Route 3 (2,131), Route 23 (1,444), Route 56 (1,300), and Route 47 (1,288). The five routes with the strongest year over year growth by percent change include Route 59 (53%), Route 66 (52%) Route 107 (49%), Route 75 (46%) and Route 35 (36%).

Metro ridership grew by 19% or 32,283 average weekday trips. The B and the L continue to experience strong year over year growth and are a driving factor in system-wide growth.

Trolley ridership has increased by 17% or 8,743 unlinked trips per weekday relative to March 2024.

Regional Rail expanded by 8% or an average of 6,337 trips per weekday relative to March 2024.
