Ridership: June 2026

June 2026 ridership was up 3.5% from this time last year. It was down 4.8% from May 2026.

Average daily ridership was 732,819 unlinked passenger trips across all modes.

Bus ridership was up by 26,547 unlinked trips. This 7% year-over-year growth was the strongest since March 2025. Saturday ridership grew by 12.1% and Sunday ridership jumped by 15.4%. Sunday ridership in June was up 44% (57,998 passenger trips) compared to two years ago.

Thirty-seven bus routes experienced double-digit growth. The five routes with the strongest year over year growth by total number of trips were: Route 3 (1,083), Route 60 (1,069), Route 47 (988), Route 40 (906), and Route 63 (864). The five routes with the strongest year-over year growth by percent change were: Route 310 (55%), Route 201 (39%), Route 95 (29%), Route 107 (26%), and Route 75 (24%).

Bus ridership was 52.2% of total ridership compared to 50.3% last year.

Ridership declined by 10% on the T and by 9% on the D. These losses were partially offset by the G which had an 17% increase in ridership in part due to FIFA Fan Festival™ Philadelphia at Lemon Hill in Fairmount Park.

Ridership on the B was up on average 82% on FIFA World Cup match days in the month of June. SEPTA moved an average of 25,671 passengers out of NRG Station after each FIFA World Cup match which is 61% greater than the 2025 Eagles season average of 16,000 fans.

June 2026 was also the first month since the onset of the SLIV crisis that Regional Rail experienced YOY growth (1.2% or 941 trips). Overall ridership growth continues to be elevated following higher gas prices. FIFA World Cup match day ridership was up 19% compared to a typical day.
