Bus Service to Replace Wilmington/Newark Line Trains: Wilmington Station to Claymont Transit Center, Aug. 8-9 

Due to Amtrak track work north of Wilmington Station, bus service replaces trains from Wilmington Station to Claymont Transit Center on August 8-9. Train service operates in both directions between Claymont and Center City, with a DelDOT bus connection at Claymont Transit Center to Wilmington Station.

Shuttle Bus Stops

  • Claymont Transit Center: Bus Circle – Transit Center Dr.
  • Wilmington: MLK Jr. Blvd & Market St.

Inbound (towards Center City) Bus Service 

Shuttle buses depart Wilmington Station 17 minutes earlier than regularly scheduled train times. Trains depart 5 minutes after bus arrival at Claymont Transit Center. Passengers should add approximately 20 minutes to their travel time.

Note: To connect with the last bus from Wilmington, train 2740 departs 17 minutes later than regularly scheduled time from Claymont to Chestnut Hill East Station.

Outbound (towards Wilmington) Bus Service 

The connecting DelDOT shuttle bus departs 5 minutes after train arrival at Claymont Transit Center to Wilmington Station. Passengers should add approximately 20 to 25 minutes to their travel time.

Note: Trains depart Marcus Hook Station to Claymont 2 minutes later than regularly scheduled train times.
