SEPTA Key Reaches 10,000 Early Adopters

Feedback on Contactless Cards Encouraged

SEPTA has reached the goal of having 10,000 Transit customers join the Early Adopters Program as part of the rollout of the SEPTA Key Fare program. The program, which began Monday, June 13, 2016, allowed SEPTA to begin introducing the benefits of its fare modernization initiative with riders, and receive valuable feedback and comments from our customers on their experience using the new contactless chip Key Cards.

Beginning Friday, July 1, 2016, new Key cards will not be available but this is not the end of the Early Adopters Program. SEPTA encourages customers who already have Key Cards to continue to purchase their Pass product, use the Card when they ride, and continue to share their feedback on the Key program.

Please remember, if you are an Early Adopter – don’t throw out your Key Card. It can be loaded and reloaded with a new Pass product. Key Cards, which customers received during the “Early Adopter” program with their purchase of a Weekly or Monthly Transpass or One-Day Convenience Pass, are valid for travel on all City and Suburban bus routes and trolleys, and the Market Frankford, Broad Street and Norristown High Speed Lines.

The 10,000 customers who are participating in the program, can continue to reload their Key Cards with Weekly and Monthly Transpass fare products at the Fare Kiosk at the 12 Early Adopters stations and SEPTA’s headquarter location at 1234 Market Street, by calling the Key Customer Call Center at 855-567-3782, or through the SEPTA Key ecommerce website, https://www.septakey.org.
