SEPTA Bus Stop and Routing Changes for I-95 Cap & Market Street Work Begin Jan. 14

Stops on Eight Routes in Old City & Society Hill Areas Will Be Relocated

PHILADELPHIA (January 9, 2024) – The I-95 CAP project near Penns Landing, coupled with upcoming street work on Market Street in Old City, will impact SEPTA customers on eight bus routes starting on Sunday, Jan. 14. These projects require buses to be rerouted to new start and end locations.

The stop changes on bus routes 5, 12, 17, 21, 33, 38, 42, and 44 coincide with the start of the closure of the Chestnut Street Bridge for the I-95 Cap project. With the bridge closing, Chestnut Street traffic will be detoured south on Front Street.

The following table shows new start and end locations for each route, and the corresponding changes to bus stops for customers. These changes start on Jan. 14 and will remain in effect until further notice.
