Did you know we have two “Girard” stations? Ever been confused about 15th St vs. City Hall? We heard you, and we are adjusting some station names to reduce confusion as part of the Metro changes.
Finally! Referring to 15th St and City Hall Stations as one place:
Great news! Now this station complex will just be called “15th St/ City Hall” — whether you are taking the L, B, or T.
Adding more information when and where you need it:
Where two stations have identical names, we’ve made them more specific, by adding the intersection or neighborhood name.
Keeping it simple:
By updating “Transportation Center” to the term “Transit Center,” we can save space on signage for more content or larger information. Also, it’s just easier to say.
Consistency is key:
We’re standardizing the abbreviations we use across all of our signage, because consistency is important for accessibility.
