Fairmount/Art Museum Area
Resting just beyond Benjamin Franklin Parkway and home to Philly’s truly world-class museums—Fairmount is synonymous with fine art but it’s far from the only draw of Center City’s effusive northern neighbor. Referred to as the “Art Museum Area” due to its walking-distance access to the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Franklin Institute, Rodin, and Barnes Foundation—Fairmount possesses a distinct personality that thrives independent of those hallowed halls.
