Providing riders with up-to-date information about our service is a key priority at SEPTA. That’s why we have a number of channels for communicating – including bulletins like this one, service alerts/advisories, station/platform announcements (where available), push notifications through the SEPTA App and social media platforms.
For years, we’ve maintained a number of accounts on X (formerly Twitter) in the interest of sharing information specific to particular modes and lines of travel. However, with changes to their platform and improvements to our own alert infrastructure and content, we have decided line-specific X accounts no longer best serve our service communications goals.
For that reason, we’ve made the decision to streamline our presence on X by discontinuing the use of line-specific accounts, some of which were already in a dormant state. No service information is going away. All the same alerts/advisories are available at on our @SEPTA account, www.septa.org/alerts and push notifications are available when you download the SEPTA app.

How to Find Alerts on the SEPTA App
Alerts for any route can be easily found through the SEPTA App on the homepage, or the Alerts tab on individual schedule pages.
SEPTA App Push Notifications
Sign up for push notifications via the SEPTA App by clicking on the “Schedules” tab from the Homepage & selecting your preferred route(s). Once you’ve accessed the Schedule page, click the heart icon in the top right corner to favorite it. From here, you can adjust your settings as necessary.



We still have some work to do on our app to improve push notifications. We have updates planned, including making the process to sign up for push notifications easier and enabling push notifications to be tappable to the specific alert from your phone’s home screen. We are looking for your feedback on how we can improve; use this feedback form to submit suggestions.
In addition to SEPTA’s App, third party apps like Google, Apple and Transit offer push notifications for SEPTA alerts.
