SEPTA Announces Public Beta Release of Android App

Offers Riders Real-Time Updates, Schedules & Other Information On Mobile Phones

SEPTA today announced the Public Beta Release of the authority’s official Android App, which offers users real-time travel updates, schedules and related information. The free SEPTA Android App is now available through Google Play Store.

The SEPTA Android App brings many of the travel resources already available on SEPTA’s website,, into one convenient mobile tool. This includes popular online features such as Next To Arrive, TrainView and TransitView.

Schedules for all modes of travel are available on the App, and travel updates and alerts are provided through the System Status feature, which has the latest service information for all SEPTA trains, buses and trolleys.

There is also a travel tool available on the App – Find Nearest Location. This utilizes GPS to provide customers with the closest SEPTA services, such as stations and transit routes. In addition, the Connect feature offers SEPTA Customer Service contact information, fare details and links to the authority’s Facebook page and Twitter feeds.

The public beta release of the SEPTA Android App follows the launch of SEPTA’s official iPhone App last fall. SEPTA’s in-house IT staff will continue monitor customer feedback and other data for enhancements and updates to the apps.

“The Android App is another step in our ongoing effort to enhance the customer experience,” said SEPTA General Manager Joseph M. Casey. “This will offer more SEPTA riders the information they need, right at their fingertips, at no additional cost.”

To find the SEPTA Android App, customers should search for the “official App from SEPTA” in the Google Play Store, and look for the SEPTA logo.
