Constitution House Marker Dedication Bus Detours & Road Closures, Apr. 18

Constitution House marks the site of Miss Dalley’s boarding house, where Gouverneur Morris drafted the Preamble to the U.S. Constitution when he stayed there during the Constitutional Convention. The boarding house was a popular meeting place for delegates to Congress and other leaders of the Revolutionary era and many signers of both the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. A historical marker will be erected to honor Morris and his contribution to our nation’s founding, followed by a reception at the Historical Society of Pennsylvania.
