Crews will perform full-depth renewal of the Lansdowne Avenue grade crossing. This involves removing the existing crossing surface and worn-out rails. Afterward, the grade crossing is reconstructed with a new asphalt surface and replacement rails.
Impact on Riders
Buses will be substituted for the D1 & D2 trolleys between Friday, August 7 through Sunday, August 9.
The Route 115 bus will be detoured from Friday, August 7 at 9 am, through Monday, August 10 at 6 pm.

Impact on Area Traffic
Lansdowne Avenue will be closed to all vehicle through traffic between Garrett Road and Winding Way continuously from Friday, August 7 at 9 am, through Monday, August 10 at 6 pm.
Motorists will be directed to use Garrett Road, Fairfield Avenue, Constitution Avenue, Brief Avenue, Route 3 (West Chester Pike) and State Road. A pedestrian detour will also be in place to allow for safe travel around the construction zone.
Access to local businesses and private property will be maintained at all times. Residents should be mindful of buses operating on residential streets, observe posted signage, and use caution when crossing at intersections.
Project Details
- The current crossing surface, ties and rails will be removed.
- A new crossing will be constructed and new ties and rails installed.
- The grade crossing and the approaches will be milled and paved before reopening the road to service.
