Weekday service will resume on the Chestnut Hill West Line under Regional Rail schedule changes that go into effect on March 7 and 8.
Chestnut Hill West was suspended last spring as SEPTA made system-wide adjustments due to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Service will resume on Monday, March 8, with service from 5:51 am until approximately 8 pm
“We are thrilled to welcome back riders on the Chestnut Hill West Line,” said SEPTA General Manager Leslie S. Richards. “The early morning trains will help essential employees get to work, and trips throughout the day will give riders more travel options.”
Amtrak and SEPTA will continue to perform state of good repair track and tunnel work during overnight and weekend hours along the Chestnut Hill West Line through 2021.
SEPTA is also changing schedules on other Regional Rail lines to improve service reliability and to accommodate ongoing track work. Customers should check for schedules that go into effect on Sunday, March 7 for the Airport, Chestnut Hill West, Manayunk/Norristown, Media/Elwyn, Paoli/Thorndale, Trenton, Warminster, and West Trenton Lines.
The following are highlights of the upcoming service adjustments:
Media/Elwyn
- Weekday midday service will be adjusted for state of good repair track and overhead wire work
Paoli/Thorndale
- Weekday midday service will be adjusted to run hourly between 8:51 am and 2:50 pm
- Early morning service and service after 3 pm will operate every 30 minutes
West Trenton
- Morning service from West Trenton will be adjusted to depart earlier to accommodate early morning travel to Center City and connecting service to Penn Medicine Station
