I-95 Chestnut Street Bridge Construction to Affect Penn’s Landing Bus Routes

Penn’s Landing & I-95 Central Access Philadelphia (CAP) Project and Bridge Closure Impacts SEPTA Bus Routes 5, 12, 17, 21, 33, 38, 42 & 44

The I-95 CAP project, coupled with the City of Philadelphia’s upcoming Old City Market Street project, impacts the start/end of line locations on the Penn’s Landing Viaduct or nearby locations for eight SEPTA bus routes. These projects require new start/end locations for SEPTA’s routes on Front Street, Dock Street, 2nd Street, 5th Street and 38th Parallel Place.

SEPTA bus routes 17, 21, 33 and 42 currently use the Chestnut Street bridge to access their start/end locations on the viaduct. Please see individual routes for new locations. The I-95 CAP Project is a multi-year construction project. Customers should board buses at all new start/end of line locations until further notice.

Bus route 48 will continue to operate its current routing and keep the current start/end of line location at Front & Market Loop.
