The Autism Speaks Empower Walk + 5K Run brings the community together to celebrate inclusion, raise awareness and support people with autism and their families. Along with the 5k itself, the event will also include sensory-friendly activities, a resource fair and the Mission in Action area, which showcases the resources offered by Autism Speaks.
Getting to the Autism Speaks Empower Walk + 5K Run
The event takes place at the Marine Parade Grounds at the Navy Yard. Nearby stations include NRG, located on the Broad Street Line. There is a free transfer to the
Broad Street Line from the
Market-Frankford Line and Trolley routes at 15th Street/City Hall – and it is a short walk from Regional Rail stations in Center City.
If you’re taking PATCO into Philadelphia from New Jersey, riders can take the Broad Street Line to travel to the Out of the Darkness Walk. Exit PATCO at 12th-13th St Station. Take the escalator or stairs to concourse level, exit PATCO’s fare gates and follow signs to exit to street level. Head north on S 13th Street toward St. James Street, then left onto Walnut Street. SEPTA’s Walnut-Locust Station is on the corner of Broad & Walnut streets.
