The U.S. Amateur Championship will take place here in Southeastern Pennsylvania at Merion Golf Club in Ardmore from August 10-16, with two days of play (August 10-11) also taking place at Philadelphia Country Club in Gladwyne. This United States Golf Association national championship features 312 of the best male amateur golfers in a week of incredible competition. Directions for Travel

Park & Ride SEPTA to Merion Golf Club

If you’re traveling by car, USGA suggests parking at Villanova or Stadium stations, then boarding the M and traveling to Ardmore Ave Station. From there, follow posted signage to the championship entrance gate.

Merion Golf Club

  1. Board SEPTA Regional Rail (stops at all airport terminals) heading toward Center City.
  2. Exit at William H. Gray III 30th St Station.
  3. Walk to Drexel Station at 30th Street.
  4. Board the L heading west.
  5. Exit at 69th St Transit Center (the final westbound stop).
  6. Board the M.
  7. Exit at Ardmore Ave Station.
  8. Follow posted signage to the championship entrance gate.

  2. Board the L heading west.
  3. Exit at 69th St Transit Center (the final westbound stop).
  4. Board the M.
  5. Exit at Ardmore Ave Station.
  6. Follow posted signage to the championship entrance gate.
  1. Exit the PATCO train at 8th-Market St Station.
  2. Follow the signs in the concourse, which will lead you to 8th-Market Station on the L.
  3. Board the L heading west.
  4. Exit at 69th St Transit Center (the final westbound stop).
  5. Board the M.
  6. Exit at Ardmore Ave Station.
  7. Follow posted signage to the championship entrance gate.

Philadelphia Country Club

  1. Board SEPTA Regional Rail (stops at all airport terminals) heading toward Center City.
  2. Exit at William H. Gray III 30th St Station.
  3. Transfer to the Manayunk/Norristown Line heading toward Norristown.
  4. Exit at Conshohocken Station.
  5. Follow posted signage to the championship entrance gate.
  1. Walk to Suburban Station or Jefferson Station.
  2. Board the Manayunk/Norristown Regional Rail Line heading toward Norristown.
  3. Exit at Conshohocken Station.
  4. Follow posted signage to the championship entrance gate.
  1. Exit the PATCO train at 8th-Market St Station.
  2. Follow the signs in the concourse, which will lead you to SEPTA’s Jefferson Station.
  3. Board the Manayunk/Norristown Regional Rail Line heading toward Norristown.
  4. Exit at Conshohocken Station.
  5. Follow posted signage to the championship entrance gate.

Additional Weekend Service on the M Line

Service on the M will be increased to run every 20 minutes on Saturday, August 15 and Sunday, August 16. 


Convenient Ways to Pay

Contactless – Simpler, Faster, Accepted on All SEPTA Networks

Credit, debit or mobile payments are accepted on all SEPTA networks (Bus, Metro and Regional Rail) at any turnstile or farebox with a simple tap on the validator.

Multi-Rider is available on all SEPTA services and allows up to 5 passengers traveling together to pay with a single contactless debit/credit card or a SEPTA Key card.

Riders are encouraged to load funds on Key cards before the event. For more information about SEPTA Key, visit www.septa.org.

SEPTA ended the sale of Key Tix on March 2. The final date that previously purchased Key Tix will be accepted is August 28.

SEPTA accepts cash for travel on bus, Metro and Regional Rail; exact fare is required for bus and Metro.

  • Transit Quick Trip: Customers at Metro stations may purchase a Quick Trip ticket, from Fare Kiosks, for a single one-way ride on the L, B, T Trolleys and the M. Learn more about Transit/Metro Quick Trips.
  • Regional Rail Quick Trip: Customers may purchase a Quick Trip ticket from Conductors aboard trains. The conductor will issue a Quick Trip, needed to exit Center City Philadelphia Stations (valid 2 hours from time of purchase). Learn more about Regional Rail Quick Trips.

PATCO riders traveling to Philadelphia from New Jersey can use their PATCO Freedom Share card for travel on SEPTA Metro and buses for $2.90 per trip. Card must be purchased from PATCO and loaded with funds in advance.

Parking Pro Tip

Download the SEPTA Park app before you head out. All SEPTA lots and garages charge for daily-use parking—this includes nights and weekends. Payment must be made using the SEPTA Park app, via text or at the kiosks. To avoid violations, please be sure you’ve paid for enough time. SEPTA allows overnight parking at most Regional Rail stations, M stations, and at Fern Rock TC and 69th St TC parking lots.
