PHILADELPHIA (May 18, 2026) – SEPTA is preparing to welcome FIFA World Cup fans to Philadelphia and the region by providing additional service for the six matches, as well as the FIFA Fan Festival at Lemon Hill.
“We are thrilled to accommodate the thousands of visitors expected to take our system for safe, reliable, and convenient service to the FIFA World Cup events,” said SEPTA General Manager Scott A. Sauer. “SEPTA’s robust multimodal network was a key factor in Philadelphia’s selection as a host city, and we are ready to rise to the occasion.”
Additional Service for the Matches
For each match, SEPTA will offer extra B [Broad Street Line] trips to and from NRG Station.
The expected ridership for each match is approximately 31,000, and SEPTA will be able to move about 15,000 people per hour on the B with the extra service and capacity.
On match days, the B and L [Market-Frankford Line] will operate overnight, with trains running every 30 minutes to select stations.
Following the match on June 14, SEPTA will hold the last Regional Rail trains of the night on all lines except Chestnut Hill West. On June 19, additional Regional Rail trains will run in the 1 a.m. hour.
Additional Service for Festival
SEPTA will provide additional service on Bus Routes 32 and 48, which serve the Lemon Hill area for the FIFA Fan Festival.
Both routes will provide frequent weekday service, every 15 minutes or less, from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Ways to Pay & Free Rides Home
The cost for riding SEPTA to the FIFA World Cup matches will stay the same as any other trip: $2.90 on the B.
Airbnb is sponsoring free rides home from NRG Station that will begin at halftime and continue for two hours following the end of the match. SEPTA offers a variety of convenient payment options, including contactless. Customers on all modes – buses, subways, trolleys, and Regional Rail – can easily tap their credit/debit card or mobile wallet at a validator to pay the fares for up to five riders.
SEPTA Ambassadors will be available at select stations to answer questions. More details about FIFA World Cup service are available on septa.org.
