On Tuesday, July 4, Independence Day, SEPTA Buses, Trolleys, and Broad Street and Market-Frankford Line trains will operate on a Sunday schedule. Special mid-day and late-night Regional Rail service will be offered following the fireworks on the Ben Franklin Parkway.
Regional Rail
Select Regional Rail trains will be added to the service schedule or held later than regularly scheduled for customers leaving Center City Philadelphia after the fireworks. Late-night service will operate on select Airport; Chestnut Hill East; Lansdale/Doylestown; Fox Chase; Paoli/Thorndale; Manayunk/Norristown; Media/Wawa; Trenton; Warminster; West Trenton; and Wilmington/Newark Line trains.
Buses
On July 4 the City of Philadelphia will be closing the Ben Franklin Parkway at 8 pm. For the fireworks event. The following bus routes that operate between 16th and 23rd Streets and from Arch to Spring Garden Streets will begin detouring at 2 pm. On July 4 until 5 pm. On July 5: 5, 7, 17, 21, 32, 33, 38, 42, 43, 48, 49. Routes 38 and 43 will begin detouring at 6 a.m. on July 4 due to fireworks set-up behind the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Suburban route buses will operate on a Sunday schedule. Specific service detour information is available on the service status section of https://www.septa.org/.
Trolley
Trolley Lines will operate on a Sunday schedule with added late-night service.
Fares
SEPTA riders are encouraged to load funds on a SEPTA Key Card before the concert or use SEPTA
Key Tix to speed up their trips. SEPTA Key Tix is available within the SEPTA app for trips on buses,
trolleys, the Broad Street Line, Market-Frankford Line, and Norristown High Speed Line.
