Officer Erick Garnett Jr. is a proud and dedicated member of the SEPTA Transit Police Department—continuing a family legacy in law enforcement. His father served as a police officer in the City of Philadelphia.

In his first year on the force Officer Garnett Jr. distinguished himself by earning a merit award, which is a testament to his exceptional work ethic, integrity, and commitment to public safety. He takes great pride in his role of protecting both the transit system and the community it serves. Whether he is assisting riders, responding to calls, or investigating incidents Officer Garnett approaches each task with a deep sense of purpose and professionalism.
His dedication doesn’t stop when the uniform comes off. Outside of work Officer Garnett stays active by running and finds joy in supporting his hometown teams—the Sixers, Eagles, and Phillies. His enthusiasm for service and love for his community are evident in all aspects of his life.

About SEPTA Transit Police:
Since 1981 the Transit Police Department has focused on ensuring the safety of customers and protecting SEPTA property and staff. The department covers the entire regional SEPTA system across five Pennsylvania counties (Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia) and three states (Delaware, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania), with nearly 250 sworn officers serving. Divided into three patrol districts officers respond quickly to emergencies and address local concerns. Additionally specially trained units offer specialized support for policing the transit system.
