North Wales Main Street Grade Crossing Renewal to Affect Local Traffic, 96 Bus, April 9-14

Crews will remove the existing crossing surface, worn ties and rails on Main Street in North Wales Borough. SEPTA will reconstruct the grade crossing with new asphalt surface, then install new ties and rails. The new components and paving should result in a smoother ride for buses and vehicular traffic.

Project Location and Hours

The work will take place on Main Street between East Montgomery Street and West Montgomery Street beginning at 9 am on April 9 through 6 pm on April 14. To facilitate construction during this round-the-clock closure, Main Street will be closed to all vehicles until construction is complete.

Impact on Riders

The Route 96 bus will be detoured for the duration of this construction. Look for posted signs. Check SEPTA’s Alerts and Detours page for travel information or call Customer Service at 215-580-7800.

Due to this track maintenance on the Lansdale/Doylestown Line, opposite side boarding will be in place at some stations on April 11 and April 12.

  • On April 11, passengers must board/exit all trains on the outbound platforms at Pennbrook Station, North Wales Station and Gwynedd Valley Station.
  • On April 12, passengers must board/exit all trains on the inbound platforms at Pennbrook Station, North Wales Station and Gwynedd Valley Station.

Impact on Area Traffic

Pedestrian access to businesses and private property will be arranged to be open during construction.
