The Independence Blue Cross Broad Street Run returns to Philadelphia Sunday, May 3, 2026 at 7 am. Every registered competitor can ride the [B] Broad Street Line for free to the starting line at Broad Street and West Fisher Avenue, located between Olney Transit Center and Logan Station.
[B] Broad Street Line Service
- The first train leaves NRG Station at 4 am. Both express and local service will run to the starting line. Large crowds are expected. Please be patient as we work to safely accommodate all runners.
- Participants in the Independence Blue Cross Broad Street Run ride the [B] to the starting line for free.
- After the race concludes, runners displaying their race bibs will be permitted travel to ride the [B] for free from the finish line back to the starting line (or to any [B] station) until noon.
- Participants must display their official competitor’s race bib number to a SEPTA cashier to gain entry.
Getting to the Broad Street Run
If you’re participating in the Broad Street Run, SEPTA is a great way to ensure you arrive on time.
Race participants can take advantage of early morning service on the Glenside Combined Line to Fern Rock Transit Center and either walk to the start or transfer to the [B] Broad Street Line.
Early morning train service from Glenside and Jenkintown stations connects runners to the [B] at Fern Rock Transit Center. Take the [B] one stop to Olney Transit Center, where signs will direct you to the starting line area.

At the end of the race, riders should take the [B] to City Hall Station where they can connect to Suburban Station and Regional Rail service.
If you’re taking PATCO into Philadelphia from New Jersey, riders can take the [B] to get to the Broad Street Run. Exit PATCO at 12th/13th & Locust Street Station. Take the escalator or stairs to concourse level, exit PATCO’s fare gates and follow signs to exit to street level. Head north on S 13th Street toward St. James Street, then left onto Walnut Street. SEPTA’s Walnut/Locust Station is on the corner of Broad & Walnut streets.
SEPTA Bus Route Detours
SEPTA Bus Routes 3, 4, 7, 9, 12, 16, 17, 21, 23, 27, 29, 31, 32, 33, 37, 38, 39, 40, 41, 42, 43, 44, 45, 48, 53, 54, 56, 60, 61, 63, 64, 68, 71, 75, 79, 81, 82, 124 and 125 will be detoured from their normal routes beginning as early as 5:45 am through approximately 5 pm on Sunday, May 3.
Detour information is subject to change. Additional detours could be added throughout the day due to unscheduled road closures.

Parking Pro Tip
Download the SEPTA Park app before you head out. All SEPTA lots and garages charge for daily-use parking—this includes nights and weekends. Payment must be made using the SEPTA Park app, via text or at the kiosks. To avoid violations, please be sure you’ve paid for enough time. SEPTA allows overnight parking at most Regional Rail stations, [M] Norristown High Speed Line stations, and at Fern Rock TC and 69th St TC parking lots.
