PHILADELPHIA (October 24, 2025) – SEPTA today, along with city and state officials, and accessibility advocates, held a ribbon cutting to celebrate the completion of a new accessibility project at Tasker-Morris Station along the [B] Broad Street Line.
“SEPTA is proud to add Tasker-Morris to the growing number of stations that are fully compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act,” said SEPTA General Manager Scott A. Sauer. “Despite significant funding constraints, SEPTA is committed to making investments that enhance access for our customers and support the communities we serve.”
A key element of the $19 million project was providing elevator access from street level to the mezzanine level and a second elevator to the platform below. With these upgrades, the station is fully compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
In addition to the new elevators, other improvements to the station include:
- New lighting and other electrical improvements
- ADA-compliant communications system upgrades with emergency call boxes and HD security cameras
- New safety and wayfinding signage
- ADA-compliant guard rails and handrails
- Modified fare lines for improved flow
With the completion of this project, 50% of Broad Street Line stations are now fully accessible with the remaining stations in various stages of design for ADA compliance.
Originally constructed in the late 1930s, Tasker-Morris serves approximately 3,000 riders daily.
