Wissahickon Transportation Center

Overview

This project has reconfigured and expanded the Wissahickon Transportation Center (officially renamed Wissahickon Transit Center as part of the Metro changes) to alleviate congestion and allow buses, pedestrians, bicyclists and vehicles to more safely navigate the area. The new, state-of-the-art transit hub at the rebuilt Wissahickon Transportation Center makes bus service more convenient and reliable for 11 bus routes (1, 9, 27, 35, 38, 61, 62, 65, 82, 124 and 125) and the estimated 4,600 people coming to and from as well as connecting through this part of northwest Philadelphia.

The new facility improves connections to transit, the park and neighborhood as well as the waiting experience for riders and provides upgraded amenities for operators.
