SEPTA offers a variety of options for seamless group travel, whether for an event, a conference, a school trip or more. Explore existing options like contactless payment or Key Card Multi-Rider.

Group Travel Options

SEPTA offers contactless payment, including Apple and Samsung Pay, on board all its vehicles. There is no need to purchase tickets ahead of time if travelers have contactless payment. Please note that each individual traveler needs to have their own form of contactless payment for this option. Read more about contactless payment on SEPTA here.

This feature offers up to five riders travel on one SEPTA Key card. Multi-rider must be activated before travel. Read more about this option and how to turn it on for your Key card here.

Through the Partner Pass Program, groups can order non-reloadable, disposable Key cards that are purchased online ahead of their travel date, in increments of 50, and shipped directly to you. How to Submit a Group Travel Request

The application process is simple.

Group Travel FAQs

A group is considered when 20 or more people are traveling together. There is no discount for multiple purchases or group rates. Groups less than 20 will need to pay individual fares or take advantage of Multi-Rider features on SEPTA Key cards or use Contactless payment.

No, regular fares are required. If riders do not already have a SEPTA Key card or personal bank card, Partner Passes can be ordered online ahead of time through the SEPTA Key website.

Partner Passes must be purchased in quantities of 50 and do not expire. Partner Pass orders require a minimum of 5-7 business days for shipment after the date of purchase. A shipping/handling fee is required and added to the order total.

Generally no, as each member needs to have their own fare. If taking advantage of the Key card Multi-Rider feature, which covers up to five persons, those customers need to travel together.
