SEPTA invites contractors and vendors to an outreach forum in preparation for the upcoming procurement opportunity related to the Green Line CBTC Replacement Project.
Description of Project & Contract Opportunity
The existing Communications-Based Train Control (CBTC) system in service on the Green Line Subway-Surface Tunnel (GLSST) is approaching its end of life and SEPTA is planning for its replacement.
The current CBTC system was completed in 2005 as part of an upgrade from wayside signaling to a first generation Urbalis Flo system by Alstom.
SEPTA envisions the Forum to provide preliminary details about the project and create excitement about this upcoming procurement. This meeting offers an informal forum for questions. Some areas of this procurement include (but are not limited to):
- Replacement of the existing train control system
- Ludlow interlocking renewal
- Train control communications system
- Train control system facilities
- Rail operations control center
