Overview
As part of the Trolley Modernization Program, SEPTA is upgrading Darby Transit Center (DTC) to better serve riders. Darby Transit Center is a critical link in SEPTA’s transit network, serving the T4 trolley and select trips on the T3, which offer access to Center City Philadelphia, and Bus Routes 113, 114 and 115, which serve Delaware County.
The planned upgrades will support faster, more reliable trolley service, improve safety, enhance access to the station for pedestrians and bicyclists and make the station compatible with modern, accessible trolley vehicles. The proposed upgrades will also improve connections between trolley and bus routes at DTC.
The DTC Transit Oriented Communities study is currently underway to identify opportunities to make DTC a vital part of Darby Borough’s community, economic, and transportation picture. This project includes concept design for a Trolley Modernization-ready facility, makes recommendations for a safer pedestrian environment around DTC, and identifies opportunities for community-supportive redevelopment. Community engagement has been a key component of the study and continues to shape its goals and recommendations.
