SEPTA is building a new, state-of-the-art facility to store, maintain, and deploy new trolleys. This facility will allow SEPTA to maintain longer, low-floor vehicles and provide ample storage space so new vehicles can be delivered while the existing fleet continues to serve SEPTA riders.

Features
SEPTA is building its new maintenance facility at 5100 Grays Avenue in Kingsessing, Philadelphia, replacing a former steel distribution center and an auto scrapyard with a state-of-the-art workshop and storage-facility. The new facility will include several features that will help optimize trolley service and allow SEPTA to be a good neighbor to the community:
- New maintenance bays that allow SEPTA workers to keep longer, articulated, low-floor vehicles in good working order.
- New shop spaces and operator facilities that keep SEPTA staff safe and comfortable while they work.
- Well-maintained screening and fencing along with dedicated employee parking to reduce noise and keep surrounding streets clean and safe.
- Ample trolley storage space so that new trolleys can be delivered, tested, and deployed while existing trolleys continue to serve SEPTA riders.
