Weekend SEPTA Lansdale/Doylestown Service Altered For Bridge Rehabilitation

For two consecutive weekends, Lansdale/Doylestown (R5) regional rail service will be altered as crews work to rehabilitate a bridge spanning Wissahickon Creek just north of Gwynedd Valley Station.

Friday through Monday (October 30-November 2, November 6-9), SEPTA crews will work to rehabilitate the superstructure of bridge 20.25 first constructed in the early 1900’s. Riders can expect delays and schedule adjustments beginning Friday morning for construction. Special timetables will be posted at SEPTA stations and are also available on the SEPTA web site at www.septa.org.

Friday ONLY (10/30, 11/6)

  • Outbound Trains #596 and #598 will end at Penllyn Station
  • For continuing travel to North Wales, Pennbrook or Lansdale:
    Board a shuttle bus at Fort Washington Station
  • For continuing travel to Gwynedd Valley:
    Board a shuttle van at Penllyn Station

Friday (10/30, 11/6) and Monday (11/2, 11/9)

  • All trains may experience delays of up to 15 minutes
  • Inbound Trains #573 and #575 will operate 4-6 minutes later between Lansdale and Gwynedd Valley
  • Outbound Train #578 will end at Penllyn Station
  • Continuing travel to North Wales, Pennbrook or Lansdale:Ride Train #6598 (5:47 pm. Express departure from Suburban Station)
  • Inbound Train #4157 will run between Penllyn and Center City
  • Customers boarding between Doylestown and Fortuna:
    Ride Shuttle Train #5157 to Lansdale, connect to Train #577. Train #577 departs 13 minutes after the arrival of the shuttle train

Saturday (10/31, 11/7)
All train service will run as normally scheduled

Sunday (11/1, 11/8)

  • Outbound Trains #2576 and #2578 will end at Penllyn Station
  • For travel to North Wales, Pennbrook or Lansdale and continuing service to Doylestown:
    Board a shuttle bus at Fort Washington Station
  • Continuing travel between Fortuna and Doylestown:
    Board a shuttle train at Lansdale
  • For travel to Gwynedd Valley:
    Board a shuttle van at Penllyn Station
