SEPTA will provide free rides on the Broad Street Line [B] to registered runners of the Blue Cross Broad Street Run on Sunday, May 5, 2024. The free rides will be available before and after the race for those who display their 2024 official race bib with the competitor number.
The closest station to the race starting point is the Olney Transit Center on the Broad Street Line [B], which is one stop from the Fern Rock Transit Center. SEPTA will have 10 additional trains departing Fern Rock Transit Center starting at 4:10 a.m. The race will begin at 7:30 a.m.
Regional Rail
Early morning service will be available on the Glenside Combined Regional Rail Line to Fern Rock Transportation Center. From there, riders can either walk to the start of the race or transfer to the Broad Street Line [B] to reach the Olney Transit Center.
Those taking Regional Rail into Suburban Station can then walk to the Broad Street Line [B] and board a northbound train at City Hall Station to Fern Rock Transit Center.
Market-Frankford Line [L]
Passengers on the Market-Frankford Line [L] can transfer to the Broad Street Line [B] at the City Hall Station.
Bus Detours
The following routes will be detoured from their regular routes starting as early as 6:15 a.m. on race day through approximately 5 p.m.: 3, 4, 7, 9, 12, 15, 16, 17, 21, 23, 27, 29, 32, 33, 37, 38, 39, 40, 42, 43, 44, 45, 48, 53, 54, 56, 60, 61, 64, 68, 75, 79, 124, 125, G, J, H, XH and R.

Connecting from PATCO
Those taking PATCO from New Jersey will exit at the 12th/13th & Locust Street Station and walk two blocks west to the SEPTA Walnut-Locust Station on the Broad Street Line [B].
After the Race
To connect with Regional Rail service, riders can take the Broad Street Line [B] to from NRG Station to City Hall Station and walk to Suburban Station or ride to the end of the line to Fern Rock Transit Center.
Convenient Ways to Pay
Attendees are encouraged to load funds onto a SEPTA Key Card for ease of travel.
For buses, subways, and trolleys, customers can use contactless payment options, such as credit and debit cards and Apple, Google, and Samsung Pay.
On Regional Rail, passengers can buy fares on the train when traveling towards the city using cash or a credit or debit card. However, for trips leaving the city, passengers must purchase fares in advance to be able to access the waiting and boarding areas.
In addition to paying for your rides with a SEPTA Key Card or individual purchase of trips, SEPTA offers the following passes:
- Convenience Pass (buses, subways, and trolleys): $6, good for 8 trips.
- Neighborhood Flex Pass (buses, subways and trolleys, and Regional Rail up to Zone 2 Stations): $10, good for 10 trips.
- Anywhere FleX Pass (All SEPTA modes): $13, good for 10 trips.
