SEPTA will provide Broad Street Line “Sports Express” service on Wednesday (June 2) and Friday (June 4), for Games 3 and 4 of the Stanley Cup Finals as the NHL Eastern Conference Champion Philadelphia Flyers host the Western Conference Champion Chicago Blackhawks.
On both Wednesday and Friday nights the Flyers will drop the puck for the 8 p.m. games at the Wachovia Center. Broad Street Line Sports Express service is scheduled to depart from Fern Rock Transportation Center every ten minutes from 6:08 pm until 6:48 pm. The trains reach City Hall 17 minutes later at 6:25, 6:35, 6:45, 6:55 and 7:05 pm
Fans will travel in climate controlled comfort avoiding the expensive parking fees and expected traffic jams in the area of the South Philadelphia Sports and Entertainment complex.
SEPTA Broad Street Line Sports Express trains stop only at the Olney Transportation Center, Erie, Girard, Spring Garden, Race-Vine, City Hall and Walnut-Locust Stations en route to Pattison Station in South Philadelphia.
After the games local and express trains will be standing by to provide northbound service back to Fern Rock.
Riders should be aware Broad Street Line trains will not stop at Fairmont Station north or southbound nightly Tuesday, June 1 through Saturday, June 5 from 9 pm until the end of service due to scheduled construction.
Should a Game 6 be necessary, Broad Street Line Sports Express trains will also operate on Wednesday (June 9) for an 8 pm. Game at the Wachovia Center. Trains will leave Fern Rock every ten minutes from 6:08 pm until 6:48 pm
