SEPTA would like to alert bus riders to a number of detours that will be in place due to road closures for the Philadelphia Marathon and related events this weekend, Nov. 18-19.
Dozens of SEPTA bus routes will be adjusted in the Center City area to accommodate the festivities. Below are the routes scheduled for detour, although SEPTA notes that additional detours could be added throughout the weekend due to unscheduled road closures. For information on scheduled detours, as well as real-time updates, riders can visit the System Status section on SEPTA.org.
Detours on the routes listed below are scheduled to begin at 6 am Saturday, November 18 and Sunday, November 19. Select buses will operate on different routes during the Dietz & Watson Philadelphia Half Marathon and the AACR Philadelphia Marathon.
Routes K-12
- K, R, 2, 4, 5, 7, 9, 12
Routes 16-31
- 16, 17, 21, 23, 25, 27, 30, 31
Routes 32-47

Routes 47M-125

SEPTA suggests that riders using buses in the areas affected by road closures consider alternative travel options using SEPTA’s rail mode such as the Market-Frankford Line, Broad Street Line, trolley routes and Regional Rail for their travel needs while buses are on detour.
