I’ve had a wonderful experience riding SEPTA for the last three months.
I live in the northeast but own a thrift store—Purpose Purchase—in Mt. Airy. My work van broke down in April so I had to park it to save up to get it fixed.
So I took the bus. I rode the 77 and the 23 and also the 18. I traveled as far as the airport early in the morning and up to Warminster late at night. The bus bus drivers were always friendly and very caring. And I have to say the buses were on time and very reliable.
Some days I had to take three buses to get where I needed to go and the connections (aka transfers) were great too. They’re also free if you’re using a SEPTA Key card or contactless payment.
And thankfully the air conditioning was sooooooooo cool. And all my buses were clean.
For work I usually travel with 60-70 lbs of clothing in a duffle bag which fit perfectly in that spot right by the front door of the bus!
My Days app tracked that I only spent $68 a month on SEPTA. I usually spend $600 or more for gas a month. I was able to save that money to get my van fixed.
Moving forward there are days when my work van works best but I’m still going to ride SEPTA for the convenience, the cost savings, and the air conditioning!
