SEPTA announces proposed fare adjustments, including the elimination of a number of discounts, as the Authority faces a $240 million annual budget deficit. SEPTA will hold public hearings regarding the proposed fare adjustments on December 13 at 10 am and 4 pm.
Notice of Public Hearings
December 13, 2024 – 10 am and 4 pm
Members of the general public may attend the Fare Hearings in person being held at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, 1101 Arch Street, Philadelphia, PA 19107 or remotely via virtual conferencing. Hearings will begin at 10 am and 4 pm with doors opening one hour before the scheduled start time. Additional information regarding the tariff and fare changes and details on how individuals can register to attend via virtual conferencing will be posted on the Authority’s website: www.septa.org/notice on or about November 11, 2024.
At the hearings, SEPTA will present the proposed fare changes. Those wishing to speak at the morning and afternoon session in person or via virtual conferencing must register by the start time on the day of the public hearing. A sign language interpreter will be present during the public hearings. Individuals may submit comments via email on the proposed fares to operatingbudget@septa.org, provide oral comments via voicemail by calling 215-580-7772, or file written comments by mailing to the Director of Operating Budgets, Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority, 1234 Market St., 9th Floor, Philadelphia, PA 19107. All comments and testimony received will become part of the public record and will be forwarded to the Hearing Examiner. To be included in the official public record, comments must be received by Friday, December 13, 2024 at 11:59 pm.

SEPTA Key = Payment via SEPTA Key card or Contactless media
Senior Citizen = Payment via Senior Fare card
Reduced Fare = Payment via Reduced Fare card
Kiosk does not sell reduced fare tickets for disabled or senior citizen riders.
Notice for the December 1, 2024 proposed fare modifications were made on September 12, 2024 with a public hearing held on October 16, 2024. These fare modifications and new rates are under SEPTA Board consideration. A scheduled Board vote on the December 1, 2024 proposal is scheduled for November 21, 2024.
