Every day you may see your favorite bus, train, or trolley operator, cashier, cleaner or transit police officer. But at SEPTA there is also a large team working behind the scenes to keep the system running. Mechanics and electricians inspect vehicles before sunrise. Engineers and maintenance specialists keep critical infrastructure in top shape. Dispatchers and customer service agents respond in real time to keep riders informed.
Together they are all part of what keeps the greater Philadelphia region moving. They show up for your 9-to-5 commute, for early morning hospital shifts, for late-night concerts and games, and for weekend family visits all while keeping safety and reliability at the center of everything they do.
March 18 is National Transit Employee Appreciation Day. It’s a moment to recognize the dedication, professionalism, and commitment our employees bring to the customers and communities they serve.
We invite you to share your SEPTA story. Did a conductor wait an extra moment for you to make your train? Did a cashier point you in the right direction? Did a transit police officer lend a hand when you needed it?
Tell us about a positive interaction you’ve had with a SEPTA employee or give a shout-out to your favorite operator. Your words matter. Let them know you appreciate them.
