Philadelphia is celebrating the Year of the Horse with a festive parade in Chinatown. Attendees can expect a lively display to ring in the new lunar year including a lion dance performance by the Philadelphia Suns, plus all of the great food and entertainment that Chinatown has to offer.
Getting to the Parade
If you’re headed to the Lunar New Year Parade, SEPTA is a great way to ensure you arrive on time. It takes place around North 10th & Spring streets, just outside of Chinatown Station on the [B] Broad Street Line. There is a free transfer to the [B] from the [L] Market-Frankford Line and Trolley routes at 15th Street/City Hall – and it is a short walk from Regional Rail stations in Center City.
If you’re taking PATCO into Philadelphia from New Jersey, riders can take the [B] to travel to the parade. Exit PATCO at 12th/13th & Locust Street Station. Take the escalator or stairs to concourse level, exit PATCO’s fare gates and follow signs to exit to street level. Head north on S 13th Street toward St. James Street, then left onto Walnut Street. SEPTA’s Walnut-Locust Station is on the corner of Broad & Walnut streets.
