In April 2018 – we said Ta, Ta to token sales. Now we’re saying Goodbye, Farewell to tokens all together.
On December 31, 2023 – SEPTA will permanently retire tokens. For customers who are still using tokens – it’s time to use em’ up or trade ’em in AND get on board with the many contactless ways to pay!
Between now and December 31, 2023 – you can use tokens in fareboxes on buses and trolleys (good for one trip). And you can use tokens in fare kiosks to receive a Quick Trip and to purchase and load a SEPTA Key card. Tokens have a value of $2 each. Not redeemable for cash.
Fare kiosks are located at all Broad Street Line stations, Market-Frankford Line stations, major Bus Loops, and at all Center City Regional Rail stations (Jefferson Station, Suburban Station, Gray 30th Street Station, Penn Medicine Station, Temple University Station, and Airport Terminals A, B, C/D & E/F).
Effective January 1, 2024 – SEPTA will no longer accept tokens onboard vehicles or as a form of payment in fare kiosks.
