On Sunday, May 2, the 31st Annual Blue Cross Broad Street 10-Mile Run will take to Philadelphia’s main thoroughfare, and SEPTA will offer every registered competitor a free ride on the Broad Street Line to the starting line at Broad & Somerville Streets.
Special northbound Broad Street Line express trains will operate from Pattison Station – near the finish line at the Philadelphia Naval Yard every ten minutes beginning at 5:45 am until approximately 8:30 am and only make stops at Walnut/Locust and City Hall stations en route to Olney Transportation Center just a short walk from the race starting line, delivering runners in time for the scheduled 8:30 am start. Regular local trains will also be in service throughout the day. Northbound local train service will begin operating at 5:07 am
Several SEPTA bus routes including Routes 17, 27, 32, 37 & C will be temporarily detoured from Broad Street from 8 am until the conclusion of the race.
Runners must display their official competitor bib number to ride free. Over 20,000 runners tested their skill on the course last year.
Also this weekend, special Broad Street Line ‘Sports Express’ trains will operate every 10 minutes for the Phillies weekend home stand against the New York Mets.
For the 7:05 pm. Games at Citizens Bank Park on Friday (4/30) Sports Express trains will depart Fern Rock Transportation Center from 6:08 pm. To 6:38 pm. For the scheduled 3:10 pm. Game on Saturday (5/1), Sports Express trains will leave Fern Rock between 1:58 pm and 2:28 pm. The Phillies will wrap up their home stand on Sunday (5/2) with a scheduled 8:05 pm. Game. Sports Express trains will depart Fern Rock between 6:58 pm and 7:28 pm
Broad Street Line Sports Express trains stop only at the Olney Transportation Center, Erie, Girard, Spring Garden, Race-Vine, City Hall and Walnut-Locust Stations en route to Pattison Avenue Station and the Sports Complex. The express trip from City Hall to the stadium takes only eight minutes.
