Crews are making structural repairs to SEPTA’s bridge over Easton Rd between Mount Carmel Av and Glenside Av. This work builds on previously completed improvements including waterproofing of the bridge superstructure as well as partial platform replacement and repairs at Glenside Station.
Work began on July 7 and continues until August 15.
The normal construction schedule is Monday through Saturday during the six weeks with shifts beginning at 7AM and ending at 7PM. While these hours may vary there is no nighttime or overnight work.
Typical construction noise can be expected during the project.
The project has no impact on train service. All lines operate as normal through Glenside Station.
The Route 22 bus is detoured between Glenside Av and Mount Carmel Av for the duration of the project.
Pedestrian access to businesses and residences remains open during construction. At least one sidewalk will always be open to allow pedestrians to move along Easton Rd between Mount Carmel and Glenside Av. Efforts will also be made to allow pedestrian access to platform stairs at Glenside Station. When it is not feasible to maintain the connection between Inbound and Outbound stairs—a pedestrian detour will be in place.
Be sure to check out these local businesses in Glenside!
