Baltimore Avenue Trolley Track Renewal Project to Affect Local Traffic, Route 34 Trolley [T2], Oct. 20 – 26

Crews are replacing track on Baltimore Avenue, near the Route 34 Trolley Loop. They are excavating and removing rails and ties and installing new rails and ties, restoring the road grade and service.

Project Location and Hours

The work takes place on Baltimore Avenue between 60th and 61st Street. Work begins Sunday, Oct. 20, continuing through Saturday, Oct. 26, with crews working from 6 am to 6 pm.

Impact on Riders

During the week of construction, Route 34 Trolley [T2] service is replaced by busing. Check SEPTA’s Alerts and Detours page for travel information or call Customer Service at 215-580-7800.

Impact on Area Traffic

The work location, Baltimore Avenue between 60th Street and 61st Street, will be closed to traffic, except emergency vehicles and city utilities.

Motorists are directed to follow the posted traffic detour: Cobbs Creek Parkway, Marshall Road and Church Lane.

Pedestrian access is maintained throughout construction.

Project Details

The project consists of two tasks.

  • Task 1: Replacement of the curve worn rails entering the loop near Millick Street.
  • Task 2: Replacement of the inside rail along the outside track of the Loop exit onto 61st Street.
