Be the Change Symposium Draws Huge Crowds

Ken Divers, director of outreach programs, SEPTA employees and members of SCOPE (Safety, Cleaning, Ownership, Partnerships and Engagement) showed up in large numbers to participate in the “Be the Change Symposium,” hosted by the Philadelphia Center Against Sexual Violence (WOAR) on Thursday, September 21. WOAR is Philadelphia’s only rape and crisis center and one of the first in the nation. WOAR experts provided SEPTA riders and employees with information and counseling services.

SEPTA is partnering with WOAR for the Be the Change: Preventing Sexual Violence in Philadelphia Symposium on September 21, 2023, to commemorate 50 years of supporting survivors and to imagine the end of sexual violence in Philadelphia. The event is free and open to all; in person and virtual. During this Symposium, breakfast and lunch are free of charge.

Get ready to engage in meaningful conversations, gain valuable insights, and connect with like-minded individuals who share a passion for making a difference. The symposium will kick off at 8 am, so be sure to arrive early to secure your spot and enjoy breakfast.

Throughout the day, esteemed speakers from diverse backgrounds will share their experiences, ideas, and strategies for creating a world free from sexual violence.
