Major Repairs & Upgrades Effects Weekend Service on Fox Chase, Glenside, Lansdale/Doylestown, Warminster & West Trenton Lines Beginning July 27

2024 Summer Regional Rail Improvement Program Effects Weekend Service on Fox Chase Line

SEPTA is performing heavy repairs in the area between Fern Rock Transportation Center and Wayne Junction Station and along the Fox Chase Line that impacts riders, weekends only. The project includes major switch replacement, track repairs, signal and station work, in addition to brush clearing.

On the following dates, no trains operate between Fern Rock Transportation Center and Wayne Junction Station or on the Fox Chase Line:

  • July 27 – 28
  • August 3 – 4
  • August 10 – 11
  • August 17 – 18

SEPTA ambassadors and transportation staff will be onsite to provide assistance and answer service and project questions.

We thank you for your cooperation and greatly appreciate your patience while we continue our work to improve service, safety, and travel reliability for our Regional Rail riders.

Fox Chase Line Shuttle Busing:

Glenside, Lansdale/Doylestown, Warminster, West Trenton Lines:

Fox Chase Line Weekend Shuttle Busing

Shuttle buses replace all trains between Fox Chase and Wayne Junction stations, serving all intermediate stops.

  • Fox Chase: Rhawn St. & Station Dr.
  • Ryers: Cottman Ave. & Rockwell Ave.
  • Cheltenham: Longshore Ave. & Martins Mill Rd.
  • Lawndale: Newtown Ave. & Devereaux Ave.
  • Olney: Tabor Ave. & Mascher St.

Shuttle buses depart Fox Chase Line stations up to 28 minutes earlier than train times to connect with train service at Wayne Junction Station for travel to Center City. Pay your fare only when you arrive at Wayne Junction Station.

Take Fox Chase Line to Wayne Junction Station and transfer to shuttle bus. Shuttle buses depart Wayne Junction Station every 2 hours at :12 after the scheduled hour. Buses leave 5 minutes after trains arrive.

For inbound service:

  • Do not tap on at origin station; take shuttle bus
  • Tap on at Wayne Junction Station
  • Tap off at destination station

For outbound service:

  • Tap on at origin station
  • Tap off at Wayne Junction Station
  • Take shuttle bus to destination station

Service Information for Glenside, Lansdale/Doylestown, Warminster & West Trenton Lines Riders

All Inbound trains terminate at Fern Rock Transportation Center.

Take the stairs/elevator to mezzanine level for the Broad Street Line [B] Southbound from Fern Rock Transportation Center:

  • Broad Street Local [B1] trains operate every 10-15 minutes, reaching 15th St./City Hall in 26 minutes, and serving North Philadelphia for North Broad Station, and Cecil B. Moore for Temple University.
  • Broad Street Express [B2] trains depart Fern Rock Transportation Center :19 & :54 after every hour and depart City Hall Station :10 & :55 every hour. The Broad Street Express [B2] does not serve North Philadelphia or Cecil B. Moore, but reaches 15th St./City Hall in 18 minutes.
  • For continuing service from Suburban Station, follow signs to Regional Rail from the Broad Street Line [B] platforms at 15th St./City Hall.

Shuttle buses operate once per hour between Fern Rock Transportation Center and Wayne Junction, to meet inbound trains to center city and the Airport.

Take any Broad Street Line [B] Northbound train to Fern Rock Transportation Center. Transfer to outbound Regional Rail trains for continuing service. Riders coming from Regional Rail should get off at Suburban Station and transfer to the Broad Street Line [B] at 15th St./City Hall.

Take Warminster or Fox Chase Line trains outbound to Wayne Junction for shuttle bus service to Fern Rock Transportation Center. Transfer to outbound Regional Rail trains for continuing service.

Fare Information Inbound Service

  • Tap on at origin station
  • Tap off at Fern Rock Transportation Center
  • See ambassadors to enter Broad Street Line [B]. No need to tap off when you exit Metro stations
  • If continuing on Regional Rail, see ambassadors for entry to Suburban Station. Do not tap off at your final destination
  • Tap on at origin station
  • Do not tap off at Fern Rock Transportation Center
  • Take shuttle bus to Wayne Junction Station, and board train without tapping on
  • Tap off at destination station

Fare Information Outbound Service

  • See ambassadors to enter Broad Street Line [B] at 15th St./City Hall. No need to tap off when you exit Metro stations
  • Tap on at Fern Rock Transportation Center
  • Tap off at destination station
  • Tap on at origin station
  • Tap off at Suburban Station
  • See ambassadors to enter Broad Street Line [B] at 15th St./City Hall. No need to tap off when you exit Metro stations
  • Tap on at Fern Rock Transportation Center
  • Tap off at destination station
