SEPTA will rehabilitate five bridges along the Chestnut Hill East service line beginning in June 2025 through August 2025, between Wayne Junction in Germantown (Nicetown-Tioga) and Cresheim Valley Drive in Northwest Philadelphia.

This project includes the following bridges:
- Wayne Avenue Bridge
- Logan Street Bridge
- Chew Avenue Bridge
- Mt. Pleasant Avenue Bridge
- Cresheim Valley Drive Bridges
The Chestnut Hill East Line connects to Wayne Junction Station for travel into Center City. Additionally, Wayne Junction is served by the Fox Chase Line, Lansdale/Doylestown Line, Warminster Line and West Trenton Line.
More information about the program, such as planned improvements for each bridge, can be found in this fact sheet. SEPTA hosted a community webinar for the Chestnut Hill East Bridge Rehabilitation Program on January 21, 2025; watch the video recap of that webinar.
Construction and Local Road Impacts
Nearby residents and business owners should expect to see and hear construction activity as the bridges are rehabilitated. A blend of day and nighttime work should be expected. No temporary or permanent right-of-way will be needed to conduct the work. Noise, vibration, and air quality impacts from construction activities and vehicles are anticipated but will be minimal and temporary. All access by SEPTA’s contractor will be from either a city street or PennDOT right-of-way. Traffic will be maintained by temporary detours or lane closures but will not have a significant impact on travel patterns. SEPTA will provide advanced notice to any impacted business and residents prior to this work beginning.
